Music

Children in Years 1-6 at Coogee Primary learn all aspects of Music once a week including a variety of instruments.  This is an area of importance and pride in the school.  These classes are held in our Music Room. Years 4 to 6 also have an opportunity to join the school choir and/or school band.

IMSS (Instrumental Music School Services)

Students in Years 5 and 6 are given the opportunity to participate in an external instrumental program held at Fremantle College, including guitar, clarinet, flute and drums.  The students are selected in Year 4 by a Music aptitude test and then offered a place in the Instrumental Program. The acceptance of a place in the program has the expectation that students will be committed to learning the instrument and practising daily at home or in their own time.
